“Hi Jamie. It’s Jennifer from the Country Store and I’m calling you to let you know we have a booth available for you!”
I have been waiting for this phone call for 14 months! Over a year ago (14 months to be specific) I put myself on a very long waitlist to be a vendor at the Country Store in Walla Walla. The Country Store is a massive warehouse with 20,000 square feet of pure awesomeness! I’m going to guess that there’s about 100 or more local vendors that sell their crafts, furniture, antiques, etc at the Country Store. It’s always one of my favorite places to shop when you want something original and unique. They have some really neat booths there so if you’re local and you have never been to the Country Store-go now. Now. Go right now!
Thankfully I have had great luck at selling my furniture pieces out of my home, but over time, it’s become more stressful. Trying to schedule times for people to come pick the furniture up when I have two babies that nap and a husband who works during the day and isn’t here to offer any manpower is challenging! And then sometimes, I have people who show up an hour late or not show up at all. I just want to bypass all of the chaos when it comes to closing the deal. I’m looking forward to staging my piece of furniture in my booth, snapping a picture, posting it online and then I’m done! Of course, I’ll still answer questions that people have but the most stressful part will be off my shoulders.
This is a picture of my booth. The Vendor who is there now will be out by January 1st and then I will take over. The booth is located on the East side of the store, near the back. I’ve been slightly (ok, extremely!) panicked because I have been so busy finishing pieces for clients or charity, that I literally have NO finished inventory to go in the booth. So between now and January 1st, I’ll be busy getting ready to launch the booth. It will be a little bit of a challenge now that the weather is colder and I have two little ones who don’t always nap at the same time. The booth might be a little bare the first part of January but I’ll slowly get it decorated and staged with furniture and home decor pieces. If all goes according to plan, this is what I plan to have finished and up for sale at the time my booth opens…..
Dining table with four chairs
If I can finish these larger pieces, I plan to spend some time with my chop saw and create some rustic wooden decor. We’ll see. Everything is up in the air right now and really depends on napping schedules and cold weather! I’m finishing up a project (that corner shelf I’ve been posting on Instagram!) for a friend/client this week and then I’ll solely focus on getting projects finished for the booth. Once I get the booth up and running, I’ll start back up with custom orders but for now, I just don’t have the time. Wish me luck in the next month! Good thing I can focus all my attention on this project and not have to worry about Holidays or Christmas shopping…..or the fact that my maternity leave is over and I’m going back to work…….. AGH! I need some Ativan. Pray for me.
