There’s been this blank wall in my office that I’ve been itching to decorate. Last weekend while we were having breakfast at my parents, Kyle said to me “Hey, if you want to go shopping with your mom today, I’ll watch the kids.”
It was like I fell in love with him all over again!
I think part of the reason he encouraged me to scoot off with my mom for a fun day of shopping was because the week prior I ventured off shopping with both kids (by myself) and it ended up being total suicide. It was the first time in my motherhood that I’ve been pushed to my breaking point while out in public. It was one of those circumstances where you just have to abandon ship before it all goes up in flames.
A red siren was going off in my head- ABORT MISSION.
With tears streaming down my face, I grabbed our food to go and carried my screaming toddler out of Red Robin. As we exited the building I could hear the roaring and cheering of the customers inside.
That could be a slight exaggeration, but it wouldn’t surprise me!
Anyway, I didn’t think twice about jumping for the opportunity to go kidless with my mom for a fun day of shopping. I decided to focus my attention on decorating that blank wall in my office that I’ve been staring at forever now. I wasn’t exactly sure what to put on the wall but I knew I wanted four things…
If you’ve been following along for a while, then you know by now that I’m a huge sucker for floral print and watercolor! I came across the floral notebooks and calendar at Anthropologie and couldn’t resist. Kyle rarely uses our home office, allowing me to take full advantage of decorating it. It’s the only room in the house that I can comfortably give all the feminine touches to. It’s no surprise that this room is my favorite room in the house!
