Those of you who follow me on Instagram know that I’ve been having a scandalous affair.
About a month ago I was contacted by Country Chic Paint and asked if I would be willing to try some of their products. Free product? You bet! Send it my way. I knew they were probably hoping I was going to love their products and decide to retail for them but all I really wanted was some free stuff. Who doesn’t love free stuff?
Another furniture-flipping friend of mine mentioned Country Chic to me several times before but I never wanted to branch out and try something different. I was comfortable with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and doubted the quality of any other brand. So I continued packing up my children and making the 2 hour roundtrip to Kennewick where I spent a fortune on paint and supplies, only to turn around and do it all over again in a couple weeks when I needed more paint.
I’ll admit it. I was a little excited to give something new a try. I was even more excited when I found out their prices are a little more reasonable than Annie Sloan’s. I mean, $80 for a paint brush?! Come on, Annie. It’s an awesome brush and everything but when I have to treat the bristles on my paint brush with more care and attention than MY OWN HAIR on my head, that’s just flat out annoying. I hate washing my hair and now I have to deep condition my paint brush all the time?! Eww. But I still love you.
So this cute little box shows up in the mail one day. I open it up and was instantly impressed by the incredibly cute packaging. I tested out some of the paint on a dresser drawer and was impressed again by how well it was covering the surface. I’ll leave out all the boring details but when I was finished painting and waxing the drawer, I took a step back and was like…
“DAAANG. Country Chic is DA BOMB.COM”
Not really. Because I don’t actually talk like that BUT I did say to myself…
“Wow. I really love this paint.”
THEN I tried the glaze. Don’t….just don’t even get me started on the glaze. I’m dorkishly obsessed with the glaze. The glaze comes in different colors and it works like a stain. The cool thing is, unlike actual oil-based stinky stains, the glaze is water based and SO much easier to use. It has no smell. It doesn’t stain your hands. You don’t have to use a disposable brush to apply it. You can use it when your pregnant, use it in doors, whatever! SO easy to use and little clean up.
The glaze sealed the deal for me. I decided this company was worth representing. It’s time our little wee town of Walla Walla had a quality Chalk Paint resource. You shouldn’t have to drive to Kennewick or Spokane for products. And now, you won’t have to!
COMING SOON TO A COUNTRY STORE NEW YOU!
That’s right. I’m officially a Country Chic Paint retailer! It’s going to take me a few weeks to get my booth ready but I’m hoping to have product on the shelves and ready for you by the middle of May. I’ll also be hosting some Friday and Saturday evening workshops! You can bring a friend, have some brownies and try out the products! Subscribe to my mailing list so you don’t miss out!
